'The Reptile Man' captures alligator in Gresham pond | OregonLive.com:

After an alligator had been swimming in a Gresham pond for at least three days, "The Reptile Man" took matters into his own hands.  Richard Ritchey, a herpetologist from Colton, jumped into the pond Sunday and captured the creature.

"He seemed a bit irritated from all the attention he had received over the past couple days," Ritchey wrote on his website. A fight ensued, he claims, with "rolling, snapping and hissing," but he was able to pull the gator out of the pond and take him home.
